It took the jury just one day to determine Casey Anthony’s fate. They began deliberations on July 4, 2011, and on July 5 found her not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and aggravated child abuse. She was found guilty of providing false information to law enforcement. Casey was sentenced to one year in county jail and $4,000 in fines. She received 1,043 days credit for time served and good behavior. She was released on July 17, 2011, and was ordered to pay $217,000 to the state of Florida for investigative and prosecution costs. But the nightmare was not over.
