Although he’s a household name across the world, most people don’t really know the story of Walt Disney and how his empire came to be. He was a pioneer in the animation field. He holds the record for the most Academy Awards for a film producer at 22 (with 59 nominations).

Although Disneyland opened in 1955, he started construction on Disney World soon after with the vision of having the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT) being the center of attention. He died in 1966 before the park, or EPCOT, was fully finished.
