Guy Builds Dream Home In Six Weeks And It’s Insane!

Mapping Out His Territory

After surveying the lot to ensure the proper space was available and determining the different portions that would be used for the future home, Areen stuck wooden posts in the ground as markers for the infrastructure. Based on the two dome-like shapes he had planned to build over the 500-square foot piece of land, each post was built to measure the distance evenly around the home’s space.

Once viewing this photo of the very beginning of the project compared to the end, it will blow your mind what Steve was able to make in such a limited space. Just wait, if you think the beautiful surroundings are enough, once you see the actual structure you will definitely want one of your own.

The Innovative Materials

Due to the lack of compressed blocks available at the time, Areen and his friend decided to use aircrete, a lightweight foam concrete that is easy to cut and has really incredible insulating properties. The autoclaved aerated concrete was actually invented in Sweden in the ’20s and functioned as the perfect, dynamic material for this particular project due to the tropical climate of the area.

The highly sustainable matter consists of 80% recycled materials and can even be used to contain or prevent the spread of fire, which was perfect for Areen! On top of these amazing characteristics, aircrete is insanely affordable at 8% less than the cost of timber frame, especially in Thailand. Wait until you see how amazing this sustainable material looks when actually used in construction. Not to mention, you will be astounded at how quickly Areen was able to construct his dream home.
