Curt Sleeper discovered what he must now see as something of a “steal” when he snapped up the eBay listing for a 30-acre property, which included a cave. It was located near where they lived in Festus, Missouri, so they decided to embark on a four-year renovation/construction journey, as they embedded their home into the sandstone cave.

With the glorious natural appeal of this Cave House, they also took advantage of the great insulation of the sandstone; it stays warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. But, you can also see that this place is quite a spectacle against the darkness. It’s not a house you’ll soon forget.
