Prince Harry Came To Her Defense

The media came be quite harsh to the new girlfriend (and later, fiancée!) of a famous man, especially if that man is a prince and his woman is a “common” actress. The British tabloids have a history for being over the top, but the hatred Markle started receiving was not just your typical backlash.

The hatred for the actress was just downright rude and racist. Prince Harry eventually released a Royal statement detailing how the press was being too harsh on the actress, and said that he would continue to fight the press against defamatory stories about his new girlfriend. This act was truly a “white knight” type of response against the ridicule Markle was receiving.
