P**sy Riot is a Russian feminist punk rock group based in Moscow. They were founded in 2011 and are known to stage provocative guerrilla performances in public places that are then filmed as music videos or posted on the internet for awareness. They speak for feminism, support for the LGBT community, and an opposition for Putin. So, when they staged a protest at an Orthodox Church against Putin in Russia in 2012, the three prominent members were arrested, denied bail, charged for a series of crimes, and sentenced to two years of imprisonment. Due o international outcries, the three were released just before the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
