Vladimir Putin: Interesting Facts and Questionable Stunts

Descendant Of A Master Cook

As it turns out, the Putin’s have been involved in government long before Vladimir’s rise to power. Well, sort of. Putin’s grandfather Spiridon Ivanovich Putin was a cook for the Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin when he would stay at his country house. Apparently, he was a decent enough cook, because after Lenin had died, Spiridon went on to continue to cook for Joseph Stalin at his numerous vacation homes around the region. We wonder if maybe Lenin vouched for Spiridon’s skill, but he probably never thought his cook’s grandson would be the president of Russia.
