Ted Bessell Went On To Star in That Girl

While Ted Bessell played the role of Private Frankie Lombardi on the Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. show, his best-known role came in 1966 with his portrayal of Donald Hollinger on the hit show That Girl, which lasted five seasons. He would later move to directing episodes of The Tracey Ullman Show, which earned him an Emmy in 1989 for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Program. On October 6, 1996, Bessell died from an aortic aneurysm at the age of 57.
