These Titles Are Coming To Netflix In April
If you're stuck at home and need some new shows to watch, you'll be happy to know that Netflix is releasing a whole lot of material in April. The streaming service is releasing everything from comedies to reality television shows to action films and everything in between.
For people who need a good laugh right about now, try watching Nailed It!: Season 4. And for those who enjoy some slow-motion Keanu Reeves, you'll be happy to know that the Matrix Trilogy is going back on the streaming platform. Nailed It!: Season 4
For those who enjoy watching amateur bakers trying to recreate Pinterest-inspired DIY creations, then you're going to be happy to know that Netflix is releasing Nailed It: Season 4 in April 2020. Hosted by Nicole Byer, contestants are going to compete once again to become to best worst baker in the country.
Sorry, Nicole, as we're all excited to see you back in action, we're more excited to watch co-host and French pastry chef Jacques Torres. His obvious expertise makes the entire show a riot. So, if you have some extra time on your hands, don't miss the premiere of the funniest baking show on television.
40 Days And 40 Nights
Josh Hartnett stars in the romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights. The story follows Hartnett's character, Matt Sullivan, as he makes a vow for Lent to eliminate intimacy from his life. He has a hard time during his 40-day cleanse, especially when he meets the girl of his dreams, Erica.

Just Friends
Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart star in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends. Ever wonder what happened to the chubby kid in high school who was friends with the popular girl? Well, Reynold's character, Chris Brander, takes you on his journey from being friend-zoned in high school by Jamie Palamino, to him becoming a successful record executive.
After a ten year lapse, the two re-connect, but Chris isn't who he used to be. Now, he is a handsome guy -- and he's single! This is one rom-com you're not going to want to miss out on watching while you're stuck inside. It's sure to make you laugh!
The Hangover
It's time to take a trip to Las Vegas with the guys in The Hangover. If you need some good old-fashioned comedy and laughter, then you're going to want to watch this film with your friends over Facetime. Get ready to see three groomsmen lose their buddy in Sin City, wake up with a baby, get a tooth knocked out, and not remember anything that happened.
The film stars Zach Galifianakis as Alan, Bradly Cooper as Phil, Ed Helms as Stuart Price, and Justin Bartha as Doug. This classic definitely needs to be put on your "must watch" list.
Taxi Driver
The classic 1976 psychological drama film Taxi Driver is coming to Netflix on April 1, 2020. If you've never seen this film before, allow us to give you a rundown. The flick stars Robert De Niro, so that right there is reason enough to watch it! The story follows De Niro's insomnia-ridden character as he becomes a New York taxi driver.
He slowly falls into insanity and begins plotting assassinations. He pretty much wants to be the vigilante who is responsible for cleaning up the streets of New York. Trust us when we say you're going to want to watch this film before Netflix takes it down.
The Matrix Trilogy
Even though Netflix recently removed the Matrix trilogy from their catalog, they have seen the error of their ways and are re-releasing the films in April. Once again, you can watch a slow-motion Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Laurence Fishburne as they battle it out against a slew of special Agent Smiths.
Honestly, if you've never seen this trilogy, now is the perfect time to start. It'll give your brain something to think about while you're at home. Just remember, computers and the Matrix are not actually controlling us.
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
The 2012 film adaptation of the popular coming-of-age novel Perks of Being a Wallflower will be available on Netflix in April. It's almost time to follow Charlie as he navigates his first year of high school. The twist: he has depression and anxiety and needs to make new friends.
This is the story that brought us infamous quotes such as "and in this moment, I swear we are infinite." Yea, it's that movie, so make sure you have some popcorn and tissues at your disposal.
The Roommate
If you're into thrillers, then you're going to be happy to know that The Roommate is being added to Netflix's catalog. The film follows the story of Sara, a small-town Iowa girl who moves to Los Angeles for college. There, she meets Rebecca, her roommate, who happens to be a native to the big city. The two become close.
But Rebecca isn't a fan when Sara begins branching out and making other friends. What happens in the end? Only watching the film will give you all of the violent and scary details!
Soul Plane
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch Snoop Dog as an airline pilot? Well, you can stop wondering because Soul Plane is coming to Netflix in April. The film centers around Nashawn Wade, played by Kevin Hart, as he starts his own airline after winning a multi-million dollar lawsuit.
You see, he won the money after experiencing an awful flight that resulted in the death of his pet. So, the obvious strategy is to go into business with a tricked-out plane piloted by none other than Captain Mack, played by the one and only Snoop Dog.
The Social Network
In 2010, The Social Network hit theaters, depicting the rise of the worldwide phenomena known as Facebook and the creator of the site, Mark Zuckerberg. The film follows the young Harvard student as he configures a website in his dorm room with friend Eduardo Saverin, played by Andrew Garfield.
But the story doesn't have a happy ending. After making his billions from the social networking site, Zuckerberg finds himself in the middle of two lawsuits. But that's all we're going to say on the matter; you're just going to have to watch the film when it comes out on Netflix in April.
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
If you need a good dose of laughter from being stuck at home, then be prepared to watch the parody/sci-fi comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The film follows an alien race that weirdly resembles circus clowns as they land on Earth. Once they are on the planet, they invade a tiny town, capturing humans and harvesting them for food.
We know, that sounds pretty gruesome. But when the concept was filmed in 1988, there is bound to be a lot of comedic flair! Be ready for this masterpiece when it comes to Netflix in April.
Can't Hardly Wait
While you're stuck at home, try living vicariously through the people at the party in Can't Hardly Wait. The film follows a graduating class as they all attend a wealthy classmate's end of the year party. Everyone, from the jocks to the nerds, is invited. The best part is that each of them has an agenda.
There's an artsy guy who wants to make a move on Amanda, the popular girl, while the class dork has plans to get back at the jock who has bullied him for years. You're going to have to watch and see if any of their plans succeed!
Cadillac Records
In 2008, TriStar Pictures released the historical drama Cadillac Records. The film tells the story of Leonard Chess, the executive of a Chicago-based record-company, and a few of the musicians who he manages at Chess Records. Taking place throughout the 1940s to the late 1960s, viewers watch Beyoncé play Etta James, Eamonn Walker portrays Howlin' Wolf, and Mos Def brings Chuck Berry to life.
If you enjoy watching some talented actors and actresses show off their musical chops, then just wait until Cadillac Records is released to the Netflix platform in April. The film will have your dancing along in no time.
The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show
Netflix has ordered a six-episode special of The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show. The show is described as being "a secret world filled with absurd characters, insight into the female experience and irreverent yet poignant social commentary."
Pretty much, if you're in need of some good laughter and fun while you're stuck at home, April is going to be your month. We wouldn't be surprised if you watched all of the sketches in one sitting!
The Green Hornet
If you've already watched the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe catalog but need more superheroes in your life, then strap in and get ready for The Green Hornet. Britt Reid is a different type of superhero. Being the heir to a newspaper company fortune after his father passes, he, along with Kato, one of the employees at the company, decides to make something of their lives.
The obvious solution is to become costumed crime-fighters and clean the bad guys off the streets. Their main goal: to take down the powerful crime-lord Chudnofsky. If you need some crime-fighting laughter, this is the movie for you.
Django Unchained
The critically acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained is coming to Netflix on April 25, 2020. If you're unfamiliar with the story, it takes place two years after the American Civil War and follows bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz as he frees Django from slavery. Together they hunt down the South's most wanted criminals.
Of course, they find themselves at the plantation of Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, where Django's wife is still enslaved. This Tarantino drama is not one to skip will scrolling through the "Drama" section on Netflix.
Never Have I Ever
If you played the game "never have I ever" growing up, then you might have a clue how this film goes. Never Have I Ever follows the story of a shy kid named Charlie, who is coerced into throwing a massive party while his parents are out of town.
He has one objective for the entire evening of festivities: get his long-time crush Anna to talk to him. That doesn't seem like too big an ordeal, but Charlie is fairly certain she has no idea he's alive. You're going to have to stream the film to see if he finds the courage to speak to her!
The Willoughbys
The Willoughbys is a Netflix original animated movie based on a Lois Lowry children's novel of the same name. The film follows the siblings Tim, Barnaby A, Barnaby B, and their sister Jane as they learn to survive having neglectful parents. But it's not all bad; they go on misadventures with their nanny and Commander Melanoff.
Director Chris Pearn says, "This film is an old fashioned story riddled with tropes, but it's for a contemporary audience. [The film is] Willy Wonka meets Daddy Warbucks meets Citizen Kane." Having that comparison to go off, it is sure to be quite the movie!
Despicable Me
Get ready, because the original Despicable Me is coming to Netflix in April. The film brings us back to the beginning when Gru was an evil mastermind trying to steal the moon with the help of his side-kick minions. Then, plot twist, three little orphan girls come into the picture and want Gru to be their new dad.
If you're stuck inside and in need of a family film, look no further than Despicable Me. It's funny, action-packed, and family-oriented. The movie will be released to the Netflix streaming platform on April 16, 2020.
The Artist
If you're looking for a different kind of movie, then think about watching The Artist. Filmed in black and white and set in the 1920s, the movie tells the story of silent film actor George Valentin as he falls in love with a young actress Peppy Miller. He's married, though, so it's a bit complicated. And the potential love affair is further complicated by silent films being replaced by "talkies."
The genre saw Peppy rise to fame while Valentin slowly lost stride in his career. This is a niche film that, if you're interested in a partially-silent event, is something you should think about watching!
