Dr. Dre Is Giving Back To Compton

Dr. Dre (Andre Romelle Young) was a member of the influential rap group N.W.A and is now the founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics. He was also the co-owner of Death Row Records where he produced records for rappers among the likes of Snoop Dogg, 2Pac and more. Aside from completely revolutionizing rap music, he has also set to work trying to change the city of Compton where he grew up and got his start. In 2017, he donated $10 million toward building a performing arts center at the new Compton High School. Furthermore, in 2013, he and Jimmie Iovine donated a $70 million endowment to USC to create the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology, and Business Innovation.
