The Office: A Peek Behind The Scenes

Pam is No Longer Banned from Chili’s

In a 2005 episode of The Office, Dunder Mifflin was holding the annual Dundie Awards at a Scranton-area Chili’s, and the evening resulted in some drunken antics that had the company’s then-receptionist Pam Beesly indefinitely banned from the restaurant.

This year, Jenna Fischer, the actress who played Beesly for all nine seasons of the hit series posted a picture of herself on Twitter standing in front of a Chili’s with the caption, “Should I try to go in?” Fisher’s Twitter followers enthusiastically encouraged her to enter the restaurant, but the most surprising response came from Chili’s Grill & Bar. A press release issued shortly after the tweet read, “Effective immediately, Chili’s Grill & Bar has removed the longstanding ban on a Scranton, Pennsylvania woman who allegedly caused a disturbance during a company awards party held at a Chili’s near the Pennsylvania town of Scranton.” Fisher enthusiastically tweeted, “OMG! Second drink!!!”
