In the last decade, the Republican party has changed from Alex’s 1980s Republicanism. In fact, “Family Ties” producer Gary David Goldberg has gone on record saying that Alex would in no way approve of or want to be affiliated with the Republicans of the 2000s. Goldberg also thinks Alex, today, is a pro bono lawyer for a children’s defense fund.
