There were also many contestant controversies that stained the singing contest. Many people ended up getting kicked off of the show because of an arrest warrant or racy pictures.

The biggest scandal was when contestant Corey Clark was disqualified because he had undisclosed criminal charges against him. Clark would go on to claim that the reason he was actually kicked off of the show was that he had a heated affair with Idol judge Paula Abdul. Of course, these claims have not been proven but the season 2 singer says it’s absolutely true.
