Laird Finds A Stepfather On The Beach

Living on the island of O’ahu, Laird lived the grom lifestyle, playing on the beach with the other kids and locals every day. That’s where he met Bill Hamilton, who became a father figure to Laird. Hamilton was an excellent surfer and surfboard shaper, well-known around the island and with local legends.

Laird excitedly introduced Hamilton to his mother, and they quickly fell in love. Bill Hamilton became Laird’s stepfather and someone he could proudly boast about having as a dad.

Having a pro surfer as a father didn’t prevent Laird from getting bullied though.
