Ellen’s Gift to Principal Carlotta Brown

In 2015, another story of a principal falling into Ellen’s good graces took place. Principal Carlotta Brown is considered one of Ellen’s Hero Educators. Carlotta Brown is a principal at Peck Elementary School in Houston. The majority of Brown’s students are homeless, and Brown works seven days a week, remaining on call 24/7 for the betterment of her community and students. She even opens the school on the weekends so the students have a place to go.

Ellen Gifted This Principal $100,000

She established a homeless outreach program to help her students but it ended up helping the entire district. She did all of this while her husband was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Ellen teamed up with Target to fit Brown a check for $100,000 for her school Peck Elementary. Target also gifted a personal gift of $10,000 to Principal Carlotta Brown.
