Ellen’s $100,000 to Principal Sherrie Gahn

If you have ever watched Ellen DeGeneres’ show you know that she loves the kids! She often gives away gifts towards anything education related. One such instance took place in 2011 was to Principal Sherrie Gahn from Whitney Elementary School in Las Vegas. Sherrie Gahn was brought on the Ellen show because of her admirable work for her students who are mostly homeless.

Help for Homeless Students

She created a network of volunteers to get help with food, clothing, medical care, and housing for her students and their families. After hearing her story, Ellen gave Principal Gahn $100,000 and backpacks full of books and supplies for every student! She’s an example for all of us to look up to.
